In Life's Endless Barter, There Are Debts To Be Paid... As Judy lay there, regaining her strength, pieces of recent events were slowly beginning to make sense. Judy was passing a local doorway at the side of a building when someone had grabbed her from behind. The assailant had roughly covered her mouth hard with his gloved hand. She attempted to scream but the obstruction made it difficult for her to breathe, much less let out a cry. She remembered the seemingly joyful noises and the screaming of others around her. The muscles in her arms ached under the resisting pressure but she was determined to see the face of the man who dared to lay his hands on her person. As they scuffled, Judy was able to rip free of his claws and turned herself about. For a moment that seemed like an eternity, Judy stared into the hollowed out eyes of the clown's mask which he had obviously wore to hide his face. Her soul cringed as she stared at the broad, ridiculing smile which was painted across the mouth area. Set within those lips were what appeared to be uneven, jaggedly sharp teeth. Though the reality held an unreal harshness, Judy knew that it was him, it could be no other. For the briefest of moments, she felt comfort in the hope that this was all a joke but as she stared at the ghastly smile, she realized that the demon was now ripping at her clothing. During the year 1843, in the beautiful and prospering state of Louisiana, many, including the Green family, seek honest and exciting opportunities. But there are those in the city of New Orleans that have needs and motivations which are a bit more on the insidious side. Young Judy, who possesses psychic abilities, feels driven to become a powerful spiritual figure. Secrets unfold as the line between truth and deception and good and evil find a home. The author, Lloyd Green, has previously written The Dream Dilemma and Reflections of EL In Search of Self. He has a degree in psychology and loves his work as a videographer. The

The Green Legacy Lloyd Green Books Reviews
Enjoyed reading this tale based on the characters in the author’s family history. I’ve always been fascinated with the history of New Orleans and the nuances of all the historical tales of the fight between good and evil. This is a voluntary and well-deserved review of a review copy received from Hidden Gems.
An interesting book about the author's relatives. The character of Judy is so well developed. I especially enjoyed the parts of the story that take place in New Orleans. That city has always fascinated me. I won this book on Goodreads and thank them for it. I had a great time reading about the legacy.
For the most part I enjoyed this book. I thought that it was an interesting concept for the author to use his own family history to work from. I also liked reading about some of the southern states.
Good book. Easy to read in one sitting . At first it was a little confusing as it switched between characters. But I soon caught on. I felt the characters were well developed, especially judy. I love the setting when it was in new orleans. It was very descriptive of life back then
I have never read anything from this author before this is the first story. I didn't know what to expect, cause I haven't read any of the other stories in this series. But I was not disappointed to read it. I really enjoyed reading this story.
I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is several stories in one, well intertwined and then brought together. I enjoy stories which do this well and this book did. The Green family's legacy is intimately connected with a mysterious supernatural power, the true nature of which we don't learn until close to the end. In the meanwhile, we are treated to tales of Marie Laveau and Dr. John, a powerful woman named judy and a choctaw woman with 'sight'. It takes a while to understand how Sanders Green and his family fit into the scheme of things, but when it comes together, its a nice reveal. My only criticism is the story could have been brought to conclusion a little sooner than it was.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Is this history? Is this fiction? It’s a bit of both. The Green Legacy reads like a collection of journal entries with anecdotes from a variety of ancestors with its mixture of dialogue and backstory. The author shows and tells the story equally.
The story is set in Louisiana and includes elements of local folklore, superstition and cultural beliefs embellished in spots. The chapters move between characters in a non-linear fashion. The author includes lust, violence and betrayal and yet found a way to describe events where you have no doubt what’s happened, but it’s not graphic. There were a couple of times where the plot fell a bit slow, but then, it’s not a traditional story. It’s doesn’t follow the standard story arc. Call me nosey but the fact that it was historically founded, kept me glued. As someone who has also researched my family tree, I wanted to see how it he brought the stories to light. I could see this title serving as a model activity for middle and high school students working on a genealogy project. I would love to see him add a family tree graphic.
I had the opportunity to preview this book via Hidden Gems ARC in exchange for an honest review.
